Shae Giesbrecht, Student
Greetings,
Hi! I’m Shae. I am a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student through Yorkville University and I am working towards my Registered Counseling Designation. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Concordia University of Edmonton. Following my undergraduate studies I had an incredible opportunity to work as a psychologist's assistant where I evaluated mental health assessments for first responders. This experience broadened my understanding of trauma and its impact which furthered my interest in pursuing a career that promotes self-growth and allows me the opportunity to support others on their journey to improving their mental health and overall well-being.
I am passionate about empowering clients to identify strengths and achieve their personal goals while fostering a safe, inclusive and supportive space for youth, and adults from diverse backgrounds.
My therapeutic commitment involves embracing a collaborative approach with clients that is based on a strong therapeutic relationship and cultural humility.
My goal in therapy is to work in partnership with my clients to collaborate and develop solutions that can lead to meaningful and positive change.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons and taking advantage of everything the Shuswap has to offer, including hiking, camping, lake days, and farmer's markets! We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have made The Shuswap our home since we relocated here 3.5 years ago.
I look forward to connecting with you!
